Zara
Hi Taunya,
Well, Zara is the youngest dog to pass the Iron Dog test! 45 minutes of stress (
for me ). She was fading at the end, but she pulled through. Sending a pic of
her I took the other day on a backpacking trip in Tahoe, thought it was
beautiful.

Zorro Update...
Hey Tanya,
Just wanted to send some pictures of the show last week, these are when he
was in the ring for Herding Class. His trainer took him in for me this time as I
had been really sick and wasn’t sure I would do him justice. Well he just never
seems to let us down. Such a goof at home and such a hard worker in the ring!
The determination he has to learn is almost scary.
First Place Best Male
First Place Best German Shepherd
First Place Herding Group
He went for Best in Show but did not win. That’s Ok his accomplishments are
many. Later this month we will try our first Obedience show. I can never thank
you enough for our two wonderful dogs. Lenka says to say hi and to watch for her
because she plans on giving Zorro a run for his money.
Always,
Robert and Mary

Zorro's First Show
Hi Tanya,
Well our first show under our belt and for a dog that had never had any training
in Breed Ring Zorro did awesome. He got his CD in 2 days. Can’t say he really
like Breed Ring though, finds it very confusing to run in circles and get
treated for doing nothing. Very contrary to his obedience training! He has a
brain that wants to work and needs challenges and Breed Ring does not do this at
all for him. I had to take him out periodically and do some obedience work
between rings just so he could do something that worked his brain. Funny boy,
but we are so very proud of him and every judge made comments about his top line
and gorgeous head and of course how he must be European because he is not
walking on his hocks. LOL. Here is what he won:
4 first place Best of Breed
4 first place Best Male
3rd and 4th for Herding Group
I am sure that our new little girl won’t be any different. Next show May 28th
going to try for Grand Championship; then our first Obedience Show and in
October AKC Nationals for Obedience and Rally. Have no doubt he will do awesome
again!

Yet again thanks for our treasure,

Zorro z Eurosportu
Hi Tanya,
There is no place I can take him be it training to dog clubs or shows it doesn’t
matter everyone has to ask where he came from and am I going to breed him. I
have not seen a better looking Sheppard in this state. His trainer loves to work
with him as well; she says he has a great balance in his personality. His drive
to learn is outstanding but he is not so high strung he won’t listen. Hence the
reason we are coming back to you for our next one. Robert and I are so very
excited to meet you and thank you for giving us such a special dog. We know the
next one will be just as great.
Just want to let you know that Zorro will be doing his first show next month. We
will be showing him in UKC Breed Ring and the following month he will compete in
his first International Obedience Show. He has such a drive for learning and
working not to mention his beautiful looks. Where ever we take him he turns
heads. You truly do a wonderful job with your dogs and have given us such a
treasure.

Erik Settling In
Hi Taunya,
I know you're pretty busy but I thought I'd update you on Erik. Basically he
settled into the routine of the house as if he'd been born there. A lot of it is
perhaps him following DeeDee's lead but he hasn't harassed a cat or even bugged
the old labrador. He comes when called and sits politely for his dinner bowl and
has already figured out about settling through the night. I had expected it
would take a couple of weeks for him to slip into the routine but not at all, he
is such a very smart boy!
He's also a little clothes thief! He routinely sneaks off with my slippers and
tucks them into his crate for 'bedtime'. Never chews or hurts them, just takes
them with him! Last night I put them up out of reach and he simply snitched a
sweater that hangs on the back of my desk chair and took that in with him to
snuggle. Again, didn't chew or harm it in anyway, simply takes it with him.
I keep offering him 'toy' woobies, a chew rope and a nylabone but he plays with
those and then steals my clothing when it's time for bed! He also is of the
opinion that he is a lapdog. The other night we were downstairs watching the
Olympics. I was down on the floor and he crawled across my lap to curl up and
sleep for a few hours. Not a bad thing at 50lbs but we might have to revisit
this topic when he's more like 70lbs!
We're working on some light obedience, just reestablishing "Foos" "Hup" and "Sitz"
at the moment, since I use German commands I know he was taught Czech I believe?
These are obedience commands I use in just day to day life with DeeDee (Foos and
Sitz for getting dinner and Hup for getting up into the car/crate or into the
bathtub) so I've introduced them first but mostly we're just playing and getting
to know each other.
I can't remember if I told you but he passed his vet check with flying colours
last Thursday. Not only physically sound and fit but totally at ease in the vet
office, let the vet inspect ears, mouth, eyes without comment or fuss. My vet
couldn't stop just looking at him. I think I'm going to need to start looking
around my area for someone who trains how to go into the ring for Koer and
confirmation ratings because he definitely has the looks and 'action' for that
as well as Schutzhund.
Okay, I'll stop raving now and when I can get him to stop sticking his nose in
the camera lense I'll try to get some pictures of him!

Vidar update (Posted 2/25/10)
Hi Taunya,
Here are a couple of pics of Vidar from last
Saturday's training. As you can see, he has one of the best genetic deep calm
bites I have ever seen. I think he would hold the sleeve all day if I let him. I
am taking my time with him and he is coming along nicely.

Hey Taunya,
Just wanted to give you a little update on "Vidar", he is doing great with his
training and is turning out to be just an awesome looking boy.
I've attached a few pictures of us doing a little bite training with a bite
pillow yesterday evening and you can tell he has inherited a calm full grip. I
will keep you updated on his progress but this little man is showing all the
right qualities.

Ozzy pup
Hey Taunya,
Hope you and Josef are doing well! Wanted to let you know that I acquired a
young (61/2 months) pup from Ozzy yesterday from a nice young girl (Sarah Clark)
in Elgin TX. She had put this pup up for sell according to her parents because
he was proven to be to drivey for her, and the fact that she has no expierence
in training and didn't want him to go to waist.
I picked the pup up and got back home with him yesterday, he does seem to be
pretty drivey but has a great temperment. I've attached a few pictures from this
morning figured you would enjoy seeing them. I'll keep you updated as I start
his training but so far he shows alot of potential.

Kraken
Hello Taunya,
I was just wanting to send you a quick note to let you know what an absolutly
outstanding dog kraken is. He is completely what we wanted and then some. His
drives are out of this world. We love him more then we can explain. We have
found a local IPO club here about a week ago and have went to it a couple of
times already. The first day we took him there, just to get familiar with the
large amount of dogs and people, the president of the club tried to buy him off
of us for 2000 euro. I told him i would not sell this dog for any price. i
showed him your website and praised about how well of people you all are and
everything, hope that was ok. Everytime we go now he asks if we have changed our
minds and the offer still stands, we just laugh. Now we have run into the
problem of my wife having this top notch dog to work with and i am am on the
sidelines. we have talked and decided that it would be best if i got my own dog
to train so i will leave her alone, haha. I was wondering if you had any of the
galant pups left that would be able to work like kraken. Kraken has set the bar
of us and has set it extremely high.
Thanks and i look forward to your reply.

Nemo
Hey Donna,
Here is the one week update...Nemo or "little fish"
as I call him, (hopefully he will be a barracuda) is doing well. He has many
good traits (for schutzhund) his food drive is fantastic. He sits, downs and
loads up in his crate on command, all food drive. His pack drive is very good he
comes every time he is called. He is being raised in the house, and is doing
well. When he is out in the house there is a lot of getting up, and a lot NOs,
but he is doing well. He is a bundle of energy, and then he crashes in the
crate. He has never gone to the bathroom in the house. He loves to play tug and
is pretty tenacious. His ball drive is coming up, but it is very puppyish (I
wonder why). I introduced him to my 4yr old female today and we went for a romp.
They did well together, and she is a very dominate female. I have not taken him
to the Vet yet, we have an appointment Thursday, but he looks very healthy (his
left rear leg wings out when he runs, but this probably puppy coordination). He
is a lot of fun to have around. You did not over sell him...

Neo
Posted 5/28/09
He is! I love him dearly. If he were a man I would
marry him is what my husband says as Neo is attentive, will eat anything I give
him, there when I need him, protective of house and family, obedient, happy to
spend time with me whenever I am willing, etc. ;-) You have swayed me to the
other side of workingline dogs. I am actually thinking about selling my female
showline to get another working line as I actually like them much better. We'll
see.

Zamb update
Hi Taunya,
Sending you an update on Zamb, my Gallant son! I ADORE this dog! He has been a
true joy to train and work with and he’s stunning to boot!
We’re in the middle of
our USAR training and he’s coming along. I wanted to send you a couple of photos
of him so you can see how he’s grown up and how he’s doing in his USAR work.
Thanks again for him! He’s just an enthusiastic and willing worker!
The first photo is of
Zamb helping me train a whole new group of handlers (he adores me and would
choose me any day, but when it comes to his job he’ll work for anyone!) and the
second is of him standing on a piece of suspended chain link (about 4’ up in the
air) where he ran up a plank and across the chain link to alert on his victim
and get his reward. As you can see he still has that beautiful, full grip! It’s
like an endorphin shot to him to have that toy in his mouth! lol
